about

ANSWER VOICE THE CHILD was written and recorded in 30 days during November of 2010.

---

Bryn Bellomy (born 26 September, 1986) is an American multi-instrumentalist composer, songwriter, and performer. He was a member of Washington, DC psych-folk-rock ensemble Little Bigheart & the Wilderbeast before moving to Brooklyn to pursue other musical directions. Born in Houston, TX, he began playing the guitar at the age of 13 and as a teenager wrote and recorded two full-length albums. He attended Houston's High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, studying electric and upright jazz bass. Following this, he went on to attend Georgetown University, studying political science and philosophy. Soon after this, while living in Washington, DC, he joined Little Bigheart. In 2009, Bellomy and the other members of Little Bigheart recorded "The Assassination of Julius Caesar and Its Barbarous Aftermath," a fourteen minute progressive folk rock suite. On the B side was Bellomy's "When I Went Down," Little Bigheart's first single. In 2010, while preparing to depart from Little Bigheart, Bryn recorded the first batch of songs for The Makers, a series of electric, rusty, folk hallucinations addressing such various and sundry subjects as the divine feminine, rowdy gods, the recent BP oil spill, death, human energy fields, and Milwaukee. Shortly thereafter, in the thirty short, chilly days of November 2010, Bellomy wrote and recorded ANSWER VOICE THE CHILD, a 38 minute "electro-orchestral psychedelic adventure" chronicling the tale of an unstable sculptor as his obsession with perfecting a series of sculptures sucks him into a deep, dark madness. Bellomy now works with various musicians and dancers in Brooklyn, performing ANSWER VOICE THE CHILD as a kind of modern cabaret piece.

Track Name: you are overgrown
you should know that you are overgrown
we will turn your cities into stone

all day, all night
we grow and eat and die
all day, all night
we grow and eat and die

take to skies, surprised that you can roam
only you can sell your telephones

climb the poles and snip the veins of god
bodies all around us come and go

all that flows inside your bones is better now
every little wind that blows will find you out

all day, all night
we grow and eat and die
go forth, go far
these stars are not so high
Track Name: hey crazy (inhale)
hey lovely
how'd you win?
you've been looking at my cards again
well you know
you don't look so young these days
your love has gone, gone away

hey crazy
take a rest
have a seat
what's on your chest?
the music of a dying mind
is loud and dark and blind

electric savior of a million lightless rooms:
tell me something worth a breath or two
Track Name: hey crazy (cough)
hey lovely
how'd you win?
are you lookin at my cards again?
well you know
you don't look so young these days
your love has gone, gone away

hey crazy
take a rest
have a seat
what's on your chest?
the music of a dying mind
is loud and dark and blind

electric savior of a million lightless rooms:
tell me something worth a breath or two

hey brother
break the bread
we always thought
we'd find you dead
eluding the angel of confusion
she broods inside your head

hey ghostly
with your grin
you sing your melodies
and fill yourself with gin
dissolving pays the pounding bill for
the wages of your spins

electric savior of a million lightless rooms:
tell me something worth a breath or two

is this the end?
oh the room spins and spins
can you depend
on the skinless and wild?
'cause after all,
you're gone again
and the room spins and spins
to your next of kin:
oh where do we begin?
Track Name: we are the love
all the ceilings creak and breathe
they fall as swiftly builders climb and crawl

find the knowers of the songs
the crying mutes who hardly sing at all

all the villains fill the roads
a million phantoms willing all things told

all the ancient races rise
from graves beneath the highways humming drones

love me like you did
and when you return
i'll give you a world to burn and
we'll rule the blackened earth
Track Name: message from land
i've lost your ghost
missing for days
as i pace the grey coast

where did you go?
i'm wandering, calling,
from pillar to post

somewhere down under the arguing waves
spaceships and submarines search for your face
threading the maze

the cork is set
jettisoned seaward,
a bottled cassette

my voice is inside
winding through undersea
reef minarets

where did you go and what do you seek?
i'm calling and calling your soul from the deep
darling, do speak
Track Name: response from sea
(...take me with you when you go...)

i can't hear your message in the sea
lover, lover, we can't find me
Track Name: in child the voice
i
would like
to hear a voice saying something new
ain't no more revolutions
and the sky men give us no solutions
oh come here, come closer now

there
is
a car on a mountain somewhere behind the sun
and on the engine
scratched in the dirt is the secret
after all, what's there to lose?

they come and then they go
what'll you do?
they come and then they go
look at you

go build
castles in the sand
where you can go and die
these are your children
they know the millions of people that
you did not know you were

they come and then they go
what'll you do?
they come and then they go
look at you
Track Name: rorschach mucus butterfly
hey ghostly
with your grin
you sing your melodies
and fill yourself with gin
dissolving pays the pounding bill for
the wages of your spins

hey doctor
can i stay til noon?
i bet i'll figure out these inkstains pretty soon
the answer, under these dismantled words,
it wants to meet you too!
